Gachapon & capsule toys · ships to the US
Is that gachapon cheaper straight from Japan?
A ¥300 capsule is not a $3 capsule once a proxy service, a parcel and US duty are on top. Put in two prices and find out whether to just buy it from a US importer instead.
1 The Japanese price
Usually ¥300, ¥400 or ¥500.
2 The US importer listing
Just the sticker prices, so far
Shipping, proxy fees and duty are still unknown, so this is not a verdict yet.
3 The proxy quote
Take these from your proxy service’s own fee page or a real checkout. The greyed-out numbers are examples of the shape, not figures we are suggesting.
4 US duty & clearance
Enter duty plus the carrier’s clearance or brokerage charge — not a full delivered total, which would count the goods twice. Both are estimates, not guaranteed charges.
On a posted parcel this is now prepaid in Japan before it ships, so it should be a line on the proxy’s invoice rather than a surprise later — how that works.
Leaving duty out tilts the answer. The US de minimis exemption has been suspended for all countries since 29 August 2025, so duty applies at any value — and it is charged on the import route only, never on a US store purchase. With duty left out we can still tell you when the US store wins; we will not tell you the import route wins.
